It sounds almost exotic. An "Alpine-style" country- house hotel in the middle of Berlin, Germany's bustling capital. Tastefully arranged furniture, pictures and floral decorations lend a Southern flair to the sedate district of Mariendorf. The name "Alpinia" brings back to memory a long-standing family tradition: The "Bayrische Wirtshaus Alpinia", was located at the same spot for over 80 years.
In July 1993, this made way for a newly-built hotel. High-quality terracotta, whitewashed pinewood and patinated ironwork give this building its special character, contrasting beautifully with the antique wooden furniture and country-house ambience.
